To develop and promote research related to Europe, this organization supports Project Research Institute activities by facilitating existing research networks and procuring financial support.
This organization was created in April 2009, and administers the activities of Waseda's four European Project Research Institutes: it coordinates research, assigns budgetary support, publishes research outcomes and manages public relations.
EUIJ Waseda commenced operations in April, 2009 as the third EUIJ, and as the first institute operated by a single university in Japan. EUIJ Waseda promotes academic cooperation and educational exchange between the EU and Japan. The Organization for European Studies supports the activities of EUIJ Waseda. Waseda established the European Center in Bonn in 1991, and a Paris Office in 2005, in order to promote and support Waseda University academic and research activities in Europe.
Open interdisciplinary seminars to illuminate the knowledge and awareness concerning Europe and Japan.
The hosting, co-hosting, and sponsoring of open symposiums with prominent scholars of Europe from Japan and abroad.
